Do You Know Most 'Free Hearing Test' Are Not Enough To Pass Medical Judgement On Your Hearing?
Let a Certified Audiologist Assess and Recommend the Right Aid Specifically Tailored To your Hearing Loss

As a former Head Audiologist in Singapore General Hospital, there's still nothing more satisfying than helping people regain the joy of hearing.

Over the past 26 years, I've seen children progress with speech development and seniors (who used to avoid the company of people) start to make new friends—because they can now hear well. Not to mention the relief on their faces when they recover from sudden hearing loss.

Among them, not everyone has the same type of hearing loss. It is important to understand this as it factors heavily into determining the right treatment and hearing aids.

However, most of the 'free hearing screening' offered at a health fair is simply a "pass" or "fail" test that is not comprehensive enough to determine the type of hearing loss. It will only tell you if there is evidence of hearing loss. The test will not be part of a medical record and there won't be a detailed report for you to refer to.

Imagine the consequences of a wrong diagnosis, or being told to get a hearing aid when your apparent loss of hearing is caused only by wax in the ears. This does happen.

It shouldn't be this way. This is why I founded Chung Audiology & Associates—to provide people with proper and professional help to cope with their hearing issues.

How Chung Audiology Helps

See an Actual Audiologist

All our audiologists are extensively trained in the science of hearing and hold at least a Bachelors (Hons) Degree in audiology. You'll go through a formal diagnostic hearing assessment in our audiometric room to determine the type and level of your hearing impairment.

Results of the hearing assessment will be plotted on a graph called an audiogram. The audiogram provides a visual view of your hearing test results across various pitches or frequencies, especially the ones necessary for understanding speech.

The audiogram results are used to create a prescription by which hearing aids are programmed, if necessary.

Extensive Range of Hearing Aids

In the event that you need hearing aids, we don't just sell only one brand of hearing aid. Our focus is to find you the best hearing aid for your situation—without any sales gimmick. Having an extensive range of the latest hearing technology helps us to treat various types of hearing losses and fulfill all of your hearing needs.

Unnoticeable

For some people, looks are very important. We have a wide selection of different types of hearing aids that are nearly invisible and others that match your skin colour. Some of these options may cost more, but if looks are your priority, we have many alternatives for you.

User-friendly

Hearing aids can be tiny. People with vision difficulties or have trouble handling small objects may not want the smallest hearing aid available. We'll help you determine which one is most comfortable for you, such as the re-chargeable type that does require you to change batteries.

Compatible

Some hearing aids are compatible with various assistive hearing devices and accessories to further enhance intelligibility and clarity. We'll make sure to check compatibility with your handphone and other audio devices

Free Trial Period

We offer a free 'test-drive' for selected hearing aids. We believe you need some time to know if the hearing aid is going to meet all your needs. There is no need to buy or commit to the hearing aids if you are not completely satisfied with them.

See What People Are Saying About Us

“Dr Chung and her staffs were very attentive to my personal well-being. All my concerns and worries were answered with professionalism. I highly recommend Dr Chung hearing clinic instead of the conventional hearing centers with branches all over Singapore. Dr Chung provides very reasonable prices and does not overcharge her patients. I have bad experiences with other bigger hearing centers who actively advertise their services and pride themselves as professionals. Dr Chung center displayed the utmost professionalism and integrity in this business. Well done!

Who Am I?

Hi, I'm Dr Chung Siew Min and I'm the founder and Consultant Audiologist at Chung Audiology & Associates. Before founding Chung Audiology in 1992, I received my Audiological training in the United Kingdom, conducting research in binaural amplification in the adult population.

In 1988, I came back to Singapore to work as the head Audiologist in Singapore General Hospital, where I implemented the first hospital based aural rehabilitation with hearing aids programme in Singapore.

After 26 years in the business, my purpose remains the same—to passionately advocate for early detection and proper management of hearing issues.

Hearing loss can occur at any age. Before going straight to hearing aids, it's vital to go through a formal diagnostic hearing assessment. You'll receive an audiogram and tympanometry report of your hearing condition and get the most appropriate treatment and hearing aids recommendations. You'll know from the report:

  • The severity of the hearing loss in each ear
  • The pattern of the hearing loss across frequencies (is it sloping, flat, inverted U etc)
  • The type of hearing loss (sensorineural, conductive or mixed)
  • Whether there is a need for medical treatment (e.g. if they have impacted ear wax, a possible ear infection etc)
  • The most suitable hearing aid based on your needs and lifestyle
  • If middle ear functioning is normal or disordered

You may wonder: wouldn't it be very expensive to go for a proper hearing test? Yes, a private consultation with a certified audiologist will set you back by $127, not to mention a full-scale diagnostic hearing assessment.

In our bid to help as many hearing impaired patients discover their problems as early as possible, we are offering the diagnostic hearing assessment at a cost price of $47.50(nett) only.

Let a certified audiologist help you (or your loved ones) cope with hearing issues now. Fill in the form below to schedule a Formal Diagnostic Hearing Assessment, and we will start serving you immediately.
